1. H1/2025: A Volatile E-Commerce Market, Temporary Revenue Growth Is Not Enough
YouNet ECI’s recent H1/2025 E-Commerce Revenue Report shows that in the first half of 2025, the four major e-Commerce platforms in Vietnam – Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada, and Tiki – generated VND 222.1 trillion in revenue, up 23% compared to the same period last year.
However, YouNet ECI also recorded a decrease of over 7,500 sellers with revenue on these platforms in the first six months compared to the previous year. Among them, faced with rising platform fees, the number of sellers generating revenue on Shopee fell by as much as 32.1% year-on-year.
Clearly, the revenue opportunity on e-Commerce is enormous but not evenly distributed. Revenue is increasingly concentrated among brands that operate professionally.
